Winter Skin and Winter Glam
Hey Saucy Babes!
Seems like all of our blog posts happen once a year and in May, but thats gonna change starting now!
We don't want to just mindlessly sell you products all day long. We want to educate you and create a conversation about whats good, bad, and magical!
So, this blog entry will be about some products we are testing out ( and loving!) for winter skin.
Who doesn't suffer from dry and patchy skin in the winter? Moisturizer comes to mind a first aid defense against dry skin. But, what good is moisturizer if you have a pile of dead skin on your face?! Solution - scrub or peel. Scrubs can be too abrasive and peels can take days to recover from.
We went on a mission to find something: gentle, vegan, natural, and cruelty free. GREAT SUCCESS! We came across Aquareveal- a fellow indie company with amazing range of peels. Best part they are all water based, gentle touch guaranteed.
We have been trying our the face and lip peel for past 45 days and results are in:
First- Lip Peel: Smooth Talker Water Peel for Lips
It works quickly and is very effective. We find this best used the night before a big event, date, or any other day of the week. Peel comes in a twist up pen component and is very handy. We use a lip balm following the peel to achieve softest lips possible the following day. ( honestly, best product for winter lips )
This is super gentle water peel we like to use 3 times a week ( we get dry in the winter lol) unlike many face peel this one proved to be ultra gentle. It never left us feeling tight or irritated. We like this in the morning followed by a moisturizer ( let us tell you: the makeup went on like butter after this peel)
We give this company A+ for winter skin care.
This post is no affiliated nor are we compensated for this ( sorry, no codes )
Have you tried water peels before? lets talk about it in comments below
TIPS BY AQUAREVEAL:
TIP #1: Hydrate!💧
This seems really obvious but you would be surprised how much of a difference it makes when you constantly drink water. When lips are chapped, that can be an indicator of dry lips. It’s another way of your body telling you that it’s thirsty. Drinking lots of water does wonders for your skin too. You’re Welcome 😉
TIP #2: Don’t Use Sugar Scrubs! 🚫
Exfoliating your lips is important for buffing away dead skin. Every brand known to existence has some sort of sugar scrub for lips. They all claim they smooth out your lips
right? What they don’t tell you is that those scrubs still leave flakes behind and are too abrasive for lips. In fact, your lips are 100x more sensitive than your fingertips! Who knew!?
TIP #3: Using The Right Lip Products 👍
You’re probably wondering “If I can’t use a lip scrub, what can I use?” There are lip exfoliators that buff away dead skin without being tough on lips. The Aquareveal Smooth Talker Water Peel For Lips is unique in that it lifts away the dry skin flakes without any harsh scrubs whatsoever. It is a water-based formula that has Smart Exfoliation Technology™. This is just a fancy way of saying that this lip peel will only exfoliate the dead skin you have and nothing more. With the Smooth Talker Water Peel For Lips, you can use it to create the smoothest lips before applying lip products.
TIP #4 Don’t Over-Exfoliate 🙅♀️🙅♂️
As the saying goes, “Old Habits Die Hard” and excessively exfoliating lips is one of them. We’re so used to seeing influencers exfoliating their lips before applying lip makeup everytime that we naturally picked up on that. Another fact about lips you may have not known is that they do not have oil glands like the rest of our skin. So if you’re constantly rubbing your lips, you’ll dry them out from taking off excess skin. Not to mention, you’re not allowing your lips to retain moisture. For lips, you just need to exfoliate 1-2 times a week at most. If you plan on wearing a liquid lipstick, exfoliate, use a lip balm, add your favorite lip liner (optional) and lipstick and voila! Smooth lips with a kick of color
